Some of the data that we are now getting from matches is increadible. We can see the exact trajectory and distance of shots. The technology being used is not just increasing the excitement for tv audiences but also increasingly live with referrals being rolled out after the Ashes. I am interested in how some of these graphic visuals could be ‘materialised’ into permanent 3d representations of certain balls, overs, or complete matches.

The stadium is starting to sparkle, finishing touches are being put everywhere, meanwhile, the groundsmen’s hut is the most interesting place to be.
Welsh club cricket is very active. I took a short cycle ride to the edge of Cardiff to visit St. Fagans a club with a beutiful ground and great heritage, this post shows some of the club cricket aesthetic that struck me see the earlier post for some on pitch action and more on flickr.

Increasingly the crowd demands boundaries, and when they come they like a bit of sign waving.

Traditional sight screens are made up in a pleasing slatted structure, and can often be found on wheels being pushed from side to side deepending on where the bowler is bowling from.
But there can be problems with sight screens, not to mention when the new digital screens with ad’s on one side get stuck. But the worst thing you can do is move infront of the sight screen, as someone found out when sachin had a word or two to say.
